Is it too much to ask your representative to read this bill and explain to you the legislation they are considering? Do they really understand the full implications of what they are attempting? Are massive government programs truly cost effective for the tax payers?
It would be difficult to sit here and type that we have the perfect health care system in the world. Essentially we have the best but as with all things the best has a price. Perhaps the best needs some adjusting to create a system that benefits us in more effective ways and means. The question remains: Do we need a sweeping overhaul at this time?
I think the answer is NO for a number of reasons:
1) We have not addressed the current problems we have with Social Security and Medicare. Let us first correct these issues before creating yet another crisis, YAC.
2) Essentially the country is at war. We need to extract ourselves from this broad situation while insuring we have adequate security to meet our commitments.
3) We have a domestic financial crisis that we are working through that includes a 1 Trillion dollar stimulus program that may represent a temporary fix.
4) We have a 12 Trillion dollar debt that we owe our creditors and it is expanding at a rate of 5 Billion dollars each day and is on tap to require 300 Billion dollars each month to service.
5) Our budget deficit this year alone is over 1.4 Trillion dollars.
The question is how are we going to pay for broad based spending programs when we can’t control our current levels of spending. Until we demonstrate fiscal responsibility that includeS reversing our debt and deficit levels we are living beyond our means. We need to focus our spending on our priorities and something needs to give.
Until we achieve a level of balance and control with our fiscal management we are risking our peace and security by creating the situation whereby we are little more than a financial printing press. We become a liability to our allies and creditors and dilute our ability to perform our obligations both domestically and on the global stage.
Please read HR3692 as we are in our final hour as the Democrats of the house try to push this bill through to law while they have a majority of the seats within the House of Representatives.
Contact your local representative and ask them to vote NO on this bill in it’s current shape and form. We need to take this path in smaller bites to keep the health of our NATION intact!
